The Best of Beauty: Fall Ready-to-Wear 2015
I've been loving all the beauty inspiration going around the web lately and so for this post, I decided to do yet another runway recap, and of course, Style.com never fails to disappoint. Honestly, the internet connection has been so mortifying (it still kind of is) and so has school, tests, and all the assignments. Which kind of explains why I haven't posted in 5 days, and that's also why I haven't had the chance to catch up on blogging.
Although, now that it's Saturday, I'm finally able to share this quick list with you guys on my "The Best of Beauty" series. This time, I scavenged through Style.com to find seven stunningly gorgeous beauty looks from the Fall Ready-to-Wear 2015 runways.

Places in Town: Basha Market
About last week, school ended early due to upcoming exams for the senior class. So from there, my mom took me to the mall to visit the annual Basha Market. The Basha Market is basically a market that opens every year with a specific theme, and highlights many businesses ranging from fashion stores, to interiors, and many more. Most of them are actually online brands, but some are based in another city.
The theme this year was "Hyperspace". Personally, I preferred their last year's theme which was more retro and vintage, and that was kind of what I was expecting. But it turns out that they change every year, and so this year the decoration was all modern and sleek and full-on astrology. Although technically, the individual brands didn't really go with the whole hyperspace thing as they kind of showcased their products in their own way with their displays. So, no point in that.
The Basha Market took place in possibly the largest mall in town. Okay and just to show you how big it actually is:
And the floors practically go all the way east and west. It's just... huge. So the Basha Market was located in the convention center which is at the top of the whole mall itself. It was quite crowded because this is an event a lot of people look forward to. I went with my mom, my sister, my brother-in-law, and my little cutie pie nephew named Edward.

| This might just be my favourite and most adorable display ever in the whole market. The store mostly sold these vintage and ethnic clothes, which was extra fascinating. |

| There was a store called "Kollage" which had the most stunning pieces of jewellery. Their booth was also very vintage and gorgeous. |

| These are only some of the necklaces they sold. A few caught my eye but apparently, the stuff they were selling (including these little necklaces) were very pricey, and not worth the tag at all. |

| And their booth actually also had these original Olivia Burton watches for sale as well. I've never heard of Olivia Burton, but I think these might just be the most gorgeous watches I've ever seen in my entire life. I was so in love with so many of them, but my mom told me that it would be better to buy them from the website directly as opposed to a Basha market booth. |

| Now, this part, I was thrilled about. So there was a corner in the middle of the market featuring some great and modern illustrators and artists. Their works were displayed on canvas along with the descriptions. I found them absolutely stunning. |

| Left: There was one store that sold kids' clothing and oh wow, these are too cute. It looks perfect for spring time, the colours are so lovely, and guys, those are crop tops. I normally wouldn't agree on letting a child out with a crop top on, but I had to say these were adorable. Right: I guess they do sell everything. |

| "Onni" was the name of this store. They seemed to work with plants, flowers, landscaping, and home living, which was pretty interesting. They had the most beautiful roses that I couldn't help but take a picture of. |

| An antiques store! Ahhh! This store, specifically, was actually so beautiful. They sold these little interior decorations, all in gold and silver. But they also had tiny antiques like the teacups above. I found those teacups so beautiful I just felt like I needed to take one home. Needed. |

| Some snapshots of the interior stores' displays ("Nagarey Home" and "Wood Pecker".) They had the most brilliant and lovely items, I just adored it. |

| There were also many stores specialising in leather products, but this one was the one that caught my attention. I loved these bags, and I really adored how they set it up for display. I thought it was quite pretty. |

| Now Canvas Living is a brand I would totally recommend for you guys to check out. From pencil cases, to binders, passport holders, bags, and just everything in canvas, they have it. Not to mention these amazing prints and patterns, you guys. I ended up getting the one on the right (a passport cover) with the feathers. My passport is going to look so pretty now. |

| There was a certain area where they sold food, ranging from organic to desserts to tacos and popcorn. As shown above, there was one store that sold smoothies and juices which was quite fascinating. They sounded pretty interesting and healthy, but apparently, a lot of their stuff was out of stock when I got there. However, these jars of freshly roasted peanut butter? Game. Changers. When I saw their booth, I just knew I had to give it a try because these looked so tempting! They're called "Frolic Kitchen" and allowed for us to taste this peanut butter. Guys, best. Peanut. Butter. Ever. I couldn't even care about the "no cholesterol and preservatives" part of the ad because I was so blown away by how good they tasted. I ended up getting a jar of the Kokoa one, which was a combination of peanuts, chocolate, and sea salt. |

| I didn't get to dress up for the market because one: You don't have to dress up for a market. And two: I had just finished school. But if you were wondering, I'm just wearing my F21 flannel shirt, with a black tee underneath, a pair of nice Mango jeans, and my go-to Converses. |

| Last part of the Basha market was this glorious food area. And when I say glorious, I mean it. There were so many different types of food to choose from, that it felt like heaven. You got traditional snacks, then there was pastry, and ice cream, and sandwiches. It was just very pleasurable, you guys. We stopped by at the Uncle Q Bakery booth and got a cruffin (a croissant muffin, who would've guessed?) and a red velvet cupcake (which was practically too large to be called a cupcake). But hey, don't those cinnamon rolls look amazing to you? |

LGBT in the Eyes of a Young Christian Girl
As an opening, or some sort of disclaimer, I'd like to state that everything I'm about to write on this post isn't meant to hurt or offend any group of people. I am not trying to spark an argument, nor am I trying to "promote" Christianity in any way. I just felt that I needed to take a stand on what I believe in, and clarify some things in a righteous manner to clear some perspectives, both for me and for others.
My name is Joanne and I am a Christian. I'm a high school student, therefore I well enough know what I'm going to talk about. I follow Jesus Christ, I believe in all that He is. I believe in the existence of Heaven, and in the Bible, and in the power of the Holy Spirit. Spiritually and personally, I am His.
But I'm not here to talk about religion. I'm here because I feel like there is an obvious gap or difference between what Jesus is, and what the church is. Globally, I've seen far too many issues about how the church treats people who happen to be homosexual, or transgender, or anything alike. I know the Bible, and I know Christ, and I'm willing to go to my grave saying that what some violent churches have portrayed is nothing godly. If you happen to be a part of LGBT, on behalf of hopefully Christians in general, I wish to start by saying I'm sorry about how some churches have treated you. Please don't let some bad people let you believe that all Christians are the same. At least to me, "God hates fags"? That is never true. Because my God does not hate. It's just not what He does.
I attend a Christian school, and I won't hide the fact that yes, as Christians, we are taught, and so we believe, that homosexuality, bisexuality is wrong. Against the Bible. Against what God initially wanted in the humankind He created. I'm not saying I disagree. I am a Christian, and my job is to stand up for the Bible, and for Christ.
You're right. I can't stand against it. I have to say I disagree on homosexuality or bisexuality. However, I have nothing against other people who happen to be homosexual, bisexual, or transgender. Here's what I believe: I must live the way that Jesus lived. I must do what Jesus would have done. That is what Christianity is about. And the thing that people forget is that Jesus hates the sin, but loves the sinner.
If I happen to have friends in the future who are part of LGBT, then so be it. If the girl in my campus wants to talk to me about her girlfriend, she should feel free. If a boy next door tells me he has a boyfriend, then that's okay. If I share a class with a girl who then tells me she wasn't born a female, then I'll just nod and listen to her story.
Gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender people are people nonetheless. I will treat my fellow humans as humans, and that's it. I will do it because Jesus has never taught us to hate. Jesus once had dinner in the house of a corrupt, non-believing tax-collector. Jesus helped prostitutes. He heals and washes the feet of sinners with his own bare hands. I don't plan on pointing fingers and labelling homosexuals as "sinners", but I do believe that each person is entitled to their own beliefs. The people of the LGBT community simply don't have the same beliefs as I do. And that's okay.
As an example, just because Muslims aren't supposed to eat pork, doesn't mean they should go out into the world and stop everyone from eating pork. Or do you find Muslim women forcefully putting on hijabs on other women, even ones with different religions? Screaming and insisting that hair must be covered? No! Because that's not what religion is! It's supposed to be sacred, and personal.
I have learned that avoiding or looking down on people just because of their sexuality will get me absolutely nowhere. And frankly, that sounds pretty evil. So whoever you are, whatever you believe in, whatever your sexuality happens to be, I am okay with that. Yes, I am wearing a cross around my necklace, but my God is a God of love and acceptance.

buckles. Maybe the idea sounds strange to you for now, but stick till the end,
and you might be surprised.
No need for accessorizing
As mentioned on the beginning,
buckles are accessories per se. For instance, when wearing an ordinary dress
with no details and a purse with a big striking buckle, any further
accessorizing could be like overdoing it. It is the same with the shoes with
buckles. They can instantly add edginess to your entire outfit, and no one will
be able to look away from them. Consider buckles as a stylish object which can
be a focus of your whole clothing combination.
LBD or a little buckled dress
A buckle on the middle of the
dress can bring focus to your waist and accentuate your silhouette, or create
an illusion of one, if you lack curves. It will give stylishness to every dress,
and it’ll especially look stunning on a wrap dress, which is a fashion must
have for every woman who desires to look at her best.
For a more daring look, the perfect
choice would be a floral,
above the knee dress, with a big-buckled leather belt. If you’re in a
constant quest for knock-out clubbing dresses, direct your quest for a
figure-shaping dress with metal buckles on the side. It’s so fashionable
nowadays, it wouldn’t be hard to find.
Boho trend is in the NOW
First buckles were put on shoes
in the mid-17th century, and ever since they’re making pairs and
pairs of shoes more striking. Regardless of whether it comes to sandals, heels,
flats, wedges, boots or ankle boots, a buckle or two, or three, will elevate
the pair. Make your choices right considering the boho style you’re striving
for.
For example, brown
leather ankle boots with a couple of buckles will give you the spunky, rock
star look. On the other hand, pumps with belts and buckles around your ankles
will make you ready for a girls’ night out, whenever you feel like it.
It’s a classic
An evergreen in a world of
fashion, a coat with buckles was popular ever since the Victorian era, and
since then, it hasn’t lost much of its popularity. Similar to coats, buckled
bags seem to be here since forever. And both of these pieces are here to stay.
All you need to do is to adjust them to your own personal style.
Go gothic with aristocrat tail
coat with striking buckles. Look business ready with a square shaped buckle
purse, for a more fun look, add a pop of bright color. There is no limit to
adapting this classic to modern age.
So, are you ready to buckle up?
From here it will be a wild ride. Now is the time to go buckle questing and
exploring the ever crowded malls, or if you opt for an easier way, online
stores. Perhaps you don’t have to go further from your closet, where you can
maybe find some retro buckled pieces you’ve completely forgotten about.
